S-57 Non-SOLAS Service

A simple and secure way for Hydrographic Offices (HO) to distribute S-57 maritime data to the wider maritime community.

The Service enables an HO to simply and efficiently distribute their digital products, i.e. S-57 maritime charts, to a wide range of users without investing in own geodata distribution infrastructure. The PRIMAR S-57 Non-SOLAS Service is free of charge for PRIMAR member HOs. The Service provides a secure online channel to make digital geodata available on a 24/7 basis.

PRIMAR operates as custodian on behalf of the HO, and handles contracting, data management, invoicing, revenue management and royalty payments. The S-57 data in the Service is continuously updated and is available for viewing and downloading by the customers, Derived Product Producers (DPPs), following a login with authenticated username and password.

The DPP can utilise the S-57 data to make their own derived chart products for non-SOLAS purposes. Access to the Service is attained by signing an agreement with PRIMAR.
